Every creative institution faces the same quiet tension.

You attract students with genuine talent. But the resources to bridge them from education to a sustainable creative career remain limited. Not because the students aren't ready — but because the industry isn't designed with all of them in mind.

About Louis

Louis Sterling is a BBC-supported music producer, keynote speaker, and founder of Auxx Music Group. An industry practitioner whose works span BBC Music, Warner Bros., Channel 4, and the Cannes Indie Shorts Awards, Louis provides educational institutions with a high-impact framework for student employability, retention, and inclusion. He specialises in addressing the persistent gap modern institutions face: bridging talented students from non-traditional backgrounds into sustainable, long-term creative careers.

His journey began in Bath, England where, as a mixed-race child, he was the only student denied an audition for his school's music programme while thirty-four of his peers were selected. Transforming that early systemic barrier into a catalyst, he recorded an album in his bedroom that same summer, negotiated a deal with an executive in Toronto, and signed to URBNET Records before even completing his school education. This rapid trajectory ultimately led him to Warner Bros.' historic Soho studio, collaborating with Oscar-winning sound engineers on major titles like Wonka, Garfield, and Baby Reindeer.

Today, Louis is based between Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Bath, UK, and travels internationally to translate his lived experience into a practical blueprint for student success. His sessions reject abstract textbook theory to deliver the exact entrepreneurial mechanics required to navigate systemic barriers and turn a distinct creative identity into a clear professional position. He equips students with an uncompromising look at the workflows of major media productions and the real-world working expectations of premium freelance and in-house creative environments.

For Deans, Senior Leaders, and Careers teams, Louis's framework serves as a vital bridge between the classroom, Creative Enterprise Hubs, and modern industry demands. Universities and institutions – including NHS England, the University of Brighton, and LaSalle College Vancouver — use his methodology to improve graduate engagement and outcomes.
